Wyoming, Ohio
Wyoming, Ohio, was settled in the early 19th century and named after Wyoming Valley in Pennsylvania. Its growth began with the construction of the Miami and Erie Canal and the Cincinnati, Hamilton & Dayton Railroad, which attracted wealthy Cincinnatians seeking country estates. Incorporated as a village in 1874 and later as a city in 1948, Wyoming developed a reputation for its beautiful homes, tree-lined streets, and strong community values. Over time, it became known for excellent schools and civic pride. Today, Wyoming retains its historic charm while offering modern amenities, making it one of Cincinnati’s most desirable suburban communities.
