Norwood, Ohio
Norwood, Ohio, was founded in the early 19th century and officially incorporated as a city in 1903. Originally a rural settlement, it grew rapidly in the late 1800s due to Cincinnati’s industrial expansion and the arrival of streetcar lines. Norwood became a major manufacturing hub, home to factories such as the General Motors Assembly Plant, which operated for much of the 20th century. Its central location made it a key residential and commercial area. Although industrial decline affected the city later, Norwood has since revitalized through redevelopment, community investment, and its strong identity as an independent, close-knit urban suburb.
