Mount Healthy, Ohio
Mount Healthy, Ohio, was founded in the early 19th century and originally called Mount Pleasant. It was settled by pioneers around 1817 and became an incorporated village in 1851. During a cholera epidemic in nearby Cincinnati in the 1840s, many residents fled to the area’s higher ground, which remained largely unaffected—earning it the name “Mount Healthy.” The community grew as a small agricultural and trading town before becoming a suburban city in the 20th century. Today, Mount Healthy is known for its rich history, diverse community, and strong sense of small-town pride within the Greater Cincinnati area.
